Air traffic control for Santa

{summary}

Airservices Australia website has been updated with information for all those wondering how Santas does not affect other aircraft movements.

Santas sleigh uses a unique transponder ADS-B allowing Australian air traffic controllers to see the sleigh but still remaining invisible to all others. Controllers will then direct aircraft away from the sleigh flight path on the night.

Like all responsible pilots Santa Claus has lodged his flight plan with international aviation authorities.

Santa has been cleared to travel down the international date line, through the Pacific Islands and New Zealand before entering Australian airspace to make deliveries to all children in Australia that have been good in 2006.
