Reading The Brisbane Writer’s Festival
Brisbane writer's festival concluded today with South Bank being the focus for much of the activities.

This festival continues to grow in prowess, attracting high profile authors such as Triple J "celebrity" scientist Dr Karl Kruszelnicki. Being a fan of Dr Karl I was hoping to be able to catch his Friday or Saturday appearances but missed him.

Many other fine authors and speakers graced the program which kicked off on Thursday.

With the recent passing of Steve Irwin and Peter Brock, it,s almost ironic that another famous Australian, although with slightly less recent profile, Colin Thiele died just prior to the start of the Writer's Festival.

I remember reading Storm Boy many years ago and hearing of his passing immediately had me remembering Mr Percivil. Time to get a copy of Storm Boy for a long overdue re-read.

More information on Brisbane Writers Festival can be found here: http://www.brisbanewritersfestival.com.au Be sure to look out for it again next year.
